Day 01
IXB / NJP – YUKSUM
Arrival and Meet and Greet at the airport or the railway station and hence fort get your self transferred to west Sikkim – yuksum- Yuksom is a historical town in Geyzing subdivision of West Sikkim district in the Northeast Indian state of Sikkim. It was the first capital of Sikkim established in 1642 AD by Phuntsog Namgyal who was the first Chogyal (temporal and religious king) of Sikkim. The coronation site of the first monarch of Sikkim is known as the "Throne of Norbugang". Yuksom is where there is the Norbugang Chorten near the Norbugang throne, the place Namgyal was crowned and several monasteries and a lake. The dynastic rule of the Chogyals lasted for 333 years. Day 02
YUKSUM - TSHOKA (3000 mts - 9840 ft) (14 kms - 5-6 hrs)
The trail from Yuksom starts at the local market and follows main road towards the north. The trail climbs gently out of the valley. And hugs the right bank of the Ratong Chu River, which can be heard thundering through the gorge below. The trail crosses over four bridges to climb steeply towards north-west to the small settlement of Bakhim. Continue for another 3 kms through forest of magnolia and rhododendron to reach Tshoka. On arrival set campsite for dinner and overnight stay

Day 03
Trek from Tshoka to Dzongri Camp (4,020m)
Start the day with a trek to Dzongri. Taking around 5 hours, you will be walking through dense forests consisting of rhododendrons as well as 400 different flowering species. Upon reaching Phethang, take a short break and get enough time to enjoy the scenic beauty around you. Continuing with the trek, reach Dzongri by late afternoon and get settled into local wooden huts; overnight stay in the huts.

Day 4
Excursion to Laxmi Pokhari
Wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise over Khangchendzonga, Kabru, Pandim, Rathong and other peaks belonging to the Khangchendzonga range. After breakfast, indulge in an excursion to Laxmi Pokhari and witness the magical beauty of the region; overnight stay in a wooden hut in Dzongri.

Day 5
Trek from Dzongri to Tsokha
Wake up to the beauty of mountain peaks by climbing to Dzongri top from where one can get a panaromic view of Kabru (7353M), Ratong (6678 M), Kanchenjanga (8534 M), Koktang (6147 M), Pandim (6691 M), Narsingh (5825 M). Trek through the Singalila Ridge till you reach Tsokha; overnight stay in a wooden hut.

Day 6
Trek from Toskha to Yuksom
Enjoy a trek down to Yuksom that has a 4,000ft descent and takes around 7 hours to get completed. Enjoy an evening soiree and then bid farewell to the porters and trekking staff; overnight stay at the designated hotel

Day 07
Yuksum to IXB/ NJP
Morning after Breakfast Check-out from the Hotel and Get Transferred to The west-bengal to Either NJP railway Station or Bagdonga Airport For your Onward Journey

Sikkim Travel Tips

Sikkim is a small state nestled neatly amongst the Great eastern Himalayas and hosting quite a few ethnic tribes and vast variation of weather conditions. To enjoy any Holiday or a Trip a wise and an essential packing of luggage is a must.

Please do make sure that you carry the items and keep in mind the Do’s and Don’t’s mentioned below:

  • Documents:

Please always do carry an Original Identification for yourself and all the traveling members, such as Passport/ driving lsc/ ration card/ voters card.

  • Clothing, Shoes and weather Grear

A good pair of light sneakers (preferably waterproof or leather if visiting North Sikkim) are very important for your feet, as you may have to walk in some places. Carry a few woolen clothes as it may get a bit cooler in the morning and evenings, also you would require them for visit to tshangu lake and Baba Mandi, If there is snow at the point you visit, there are always hawkers who give rented gumboots, gloves, and raincoats so you can feel free to roll around on the snow. Always carry small towels with you while traveling,

  • Toiletries and Medical Supplies

Please carry your medicines, water and what your doctor has suggested for high altitude. chweingums of great help to overcome giddiness at very high altitude. Please carry anti-vomit tablets like Avomine, Pregnidoxin, Reglan and Deriphyllin/ Coca for breath control as the twisting and curving roads tend to get you sick.

  • Photo equipment

Please carry extra data cards if you are taking pictures in high megapixels, you are going to run out of space. Lithium batteries are also not much help as they can store little charge. Carry several alkaline batteries and camera which can be of great help as you will be tempted to take thousands of photographs

  • Miscellaneous

Please avoid eating from wayside dhabas as they might tend to get you sick, also before boarding on a car for a long route eat light and carry some snacks with you, always carry a mineral water bottle with you and avid drinking outside waters.

::DO'S::
  1. Vegetation is fragile; follow designated trails.
  2. Avoid littering and deposit garbage at designated places.
  3. Keep all pollutants away from streams and lakes.
  4. Respect local culture by taking permission before taking photographs.
  5. Dress modestly. Be aware of the customs and manners and culture of the local people.
  6. It is customary to leave a donation at a monastery and to circle shrines in a clockwise direction.
  7. Enjoy yourself always
::DON’TS::
    1. Don’t disturb wildlife or its habitat.
    2. Don’t buy endangered species or antiques.
    3. Don’t smoke, drink alcohol which is strictly prohibited in public
    4. Don’t talk loudly near sacred places.
    5. Don’t pluck plants or flowers
